Discover the World of Communication classes return to the lovely º£½Ç»»ÆÞ Campus in July 2025. Registration will open soon for this exciting commuter program.

Join Discover the World of Communication this Summer!

Discover the World of Communication students learn to build a digital portfolio, script, shoot and edit a film, write news stories, speak with confidence, persuade, inform, educate, and entertain. SOC's professional, hands-on workshops—open to students entering grades 9 through 12—are taught by º£½Ç»»ÆÞ School of Communication faculty and communication professionals.

Discover the World of Communication Founder Sarah Menke-Fish introduces the exciting variety of communication classes for high school students at º£½Ç»»ÆÞ.

Frequently Asked Questions

Registration opens in January 2025. Filmmaking, photography, journalism, and public communication classes will be offered during one session from July 7-18.

The classes are taught by American Univeristy faculty and working professionals.

Your program fee covers your participation and supplies for the course.

Create a resume-worthy news article, video, photography portfolio, or game design that may be used for college admissions, internships, and your own enjoyment. You will receive a DWC certificate for each class you complete.

A minimum of eight students is required for each class to run as scheduled. We will cap enrollment at 18 students per course. If needed, additional sections may be added.
