Lisa Clarkson Adjunct Professorial Lecturer Performing Arts

- Lisa Clarkson is a dancer, movement educator, and physical therapist. She had a 10+ year career as a full-time professional ballet dancer, with Louisville Ballet, Lexington Ballet and Ballet Memphis, after completing her B.S. in Ballet Performance at Indiana University. Lisa began teaching ballet while at Indiana University and has taught all levels, including creative movement, conservatory, and adult dancers. She also began teaching Pilates in 1998, and is a STOTT Pilates Instructor and Instructor trainer. While preparing for physical therapy school, Ms. Clarkson continued to perform in a community based modern dance group in Memphis called Project Motion and taught ballet at the University of Memphis . Lisa graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2014. She currently works as a Physical Therapist and Pilates instructor at Body Dynamics, Inc, teaches pilates for the young dancers at Ballet Nova, as well as working adjunct for the º£½Ç»»ÆÞ dance department. Lisa continues to take ballet class regularly, is an avid tango dancer and loves to travel.
